Rivers Commissioner Lauds SEEFOR On Projects
The Rivers State Commissioner for Agriculture, Hon Charles Nworgu has commended the State Employment and Expenditure For Results (SEEFOR) project for initiating series of agricultural and other projects across the state.
Nworgu said this during the implementation of series of agricultural and infrastructural projects in Gream-Ama, Okrika by the Community Driven Development-Economic (CDD-E) sub component of the SEEFOR project.
The commissioner, who was represented by the Director of Agriculture, Rivers State Ministry of Agriculture, Loveday Atata said that the effort of the SEEFOR/FADAMA Team would boost food production in the state.
According to the commissioner, the situation was a testimony by the present administration in the state to develop agriculture, especially now that it had re-entered the national stage of economic recovery and growth plan.
He also stressed the need for the youth and the people of Gream-Ama to get involved in other agricultural activities to attract development to their area.
Also speaking, the SEEFOR Project Coordinator, Keleious Amos commended members of the SEEFOR/FADAMA Community Association (SFCA) for their commitment at ensuring that their selected micro projects were implemented without hitches.
Amos, who was represented by Mrs Christiancia Igbe, advised them to be committed to the sustenance of the projects, which also included a modern toilet with water facilities.
Also speaking, the state FADAMA 111 Project Co-ordinator, Prince Kingsley Amadi said that the toilet project was chosen by the community.
He listed other projects to include agro-processing, fisheries, boat-making, aquaculture, artisanal poultry and piggery.
