The lawmaker lauded women in Benue for the interest they had shown in skills acquisition programmes, saying that the development would empower the women.
Meanwhile, the Cross River State House of Assembly has taken delivery of computer equipment, refrigerators and office furniture from one of its Development Partners, the World Bank.
The items which are meant for use by the two committees in charge of Public Accounting Finance and Appropriation and that of Public Accounts of the Cross River State House of Assembly were presented to the Speaker and other members of the House.
Receiving the items on behalf of the Assembly, the Speaker, Rt Hon. John Gaul Lebo, expressed appreciation to the Development Partners, assuring that the equipment and other furniture would be used judiciously by the benefiting committees to enhance their work.
The State Auditor General, Pastor Chris Nyong who presented the items on behalf of the donors said Development Partners have been very supportive of public finance reforms in Cross River State, adding that the support is always in form of training and office equipment.
He however, maintained that for the House of Assembly which is a lawmaking body, the support is for committees with direct bearing on public accounting.
