Rivers Cyclists Off To Switzerland
Two Rivers female
cyclists, Tombrapa Grikpa and Ese Ukpaseraye, have left for Switzerland for two months training tour.
Head Coach of the association, Emmanuel Onasanya, disclosed this yesterday in an interview with Tidesports in Port Harcourt.
According to him, the tour is part of preparations for the forthcoming 19th National Sports Festival scheduled to hold later this year in Calabar, Cross River State.
He stated that the team is set for camping ahead of the Sports fiesta, but waiting the state government to give go ahead for camping.
“The players are in high spirit and poised to win medals at the 19th NSF preparations. We are ready any day, any time for the competition”, he said.
Meanwhile, the team just returned from Lagos Cycology Cycling Criterium Competition held in Lagos State.
The competition which was based on team classification saw Rivers male and female cyclists clinched overall first position in the competition.
The competition was organised by the CRIT Club in conjunction with the Lagos State Cycling Association.
It would be recalled that the Rivers cyclists represented Nigeria in the “2016 Benin Tour” and won first position.
