The management of
the Rangers International FC, Enugu has moved to ensure that its fans and stakeholders paid the requisite gate-fees for matches at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu.
The Media Officer of the club, Foster Chime, told newsmenon Saturday that the new rule was binding on everyone irrespective of their status. Chime said that the move was meant to improve the financial fortunes of the club.
“The initiative took off in our last home match against Niger Tornadoes.
“It ensured that every Rangers fan, supporter and stakeholders pay the requisite gate-fees before entry into the stadium, irrespective of who you are.
“To show leadership by example, the Chief of Staff, Government House, Sir Victor Atuonwu, paid for himself.
“He also paid for seven members of his entourage, including his security aides before entering the stadium in our last home match,’’ he said.
Chime noted that with the new arrangement, persons entering the V.I.P area would pay N1,000.
He said that security agents had been detailed to ensure strict compliance with the initiative.
“We urge fans to sit according to the numbers on their tickets to avoid embarrassment,’’ he added.
