Perm Sec Harps On Skills Dev
The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Employment Generation and Empowerment, Mrs Comfort Iragunima, has advocated skill acquisition and application among job seekers as an alternative measure for job creation.
The Permanent Secretary who stated this during a press briefing in her office recently, said the clamour for white collar jobs had obliterated the sense of creativity of many youths.
Mrs Iragunima, who is also the founder of a non-governmental organisation, Job Seekers Fellowship In-Christ International (JOSEF), advised youths to engage themselves in creative and entrepreneurial endeavours rather than waiting for white collar jobs that are not always available.
She said, her NGO (JOSEF), would be holding its annual Rosh Hossanah (Feast of Trumpet)celebration in line with God’s end time agenda for mankind at the Glass House Event Centre, Rumuola, Port Harcourt. According to the Permanent Secretary, the NGO is a platform for creative activities and inspiration among job seekers with Christ as its foundation.
She also cautioned youths against anti-social activities, stressing that they should not allow themselves to be used as political pawns by politicians, but work hard to secure their future and become useful to their generation.
