NNSF Calls For Facilities For Sport
President of newly formed
Nigeria Natural Strongest Man Federation (NNSF), Daniel Damola, has called for installation of training facilities to help the growth of the sport.
Damola told newsmen on Saturday in Lagos that the federation needed the assistance of corporate bodies to support their programmes.
He said the federation had obsolete facilities, which he noted was not helping the body to improve at their pace.
“Most times that we go to games we do not have supporters to cheer us unlike in football.
“This game is all about strongman pulling heavy objects and we need people to appreciate us and also sponsor us to our games,’’ he said.
“One of our colleagues is currently in South Africa for a competition and we are still going for another one in the U.S., by the second week of this month.
“Sometime toward the end of the year, all the strong men in the World will converge in Nigeria for a championship. In promoting the sport, it is important to train the strongmen on how to pull better.
“This is a sport that can entertain, alleviate poverty and can also create jobs, so we need people to be aware of it and also to support us”’.
