Tanzania Appoints Mkwasa New Head Coach
Former Young Africans
assistant coach Charles Boniface Mkwasa has been appointed as the new head coach of the Tanzanian national football team.
Mkwasa takes over from Dutchman Mart Nooij, who was sacked over the past weekend following a run of six consecutive defeats.
Hemed Morocco of Zanzibar will act as Mkwasa’s right hand man.
Nooij had to be escorted from the field following the Taifa Stars’ 3-0 defeat to Uganda on Saturday.
Mkwasa and his technical team will have the immediate task of preparing the national team for the return-leg 2016 CHAN qualifier in Kampala next month.
