‘RSG Open To Public Scrutiny’
The Rivers State Government says, its income and expenditure will always remain open for public scrutiny.
The Commissioner for Budget/ Economic Planning, Hon Gogo Levi Charles who said this during the inauguration of the Andoni chapter of the Rivers Leadership Advancement Foundation (RIVLEAF) at Ngo, Andoni Local Government headquarters, said that the government was ready to account for every kobo it had spent.
The commissioner also said that the projects undertaken by the present administration since inception were based on the needs of the various communities.
Hon Gogo Charles said that the present administration had invested so much in health, education and infrastructure, and urged the youth to refrain from being used by some politicians to destroy the state.
Also speaking, the chairman of Andoni local Government Area, Hon Orom Nte Ereforokuma said that the on-going effort by the council at developing the area would have been impossible without the support of Governor Chibuike Amaechi.
Hon Ereforokuma said that the developmental standard set by the governor had gingered competition among local government councils in the state, and assured that RIVLEAF would be strengthened in Andoni to achieve its desired objectives.
The National President of the foundation, Hon Alex Wele described RIVLEAF as the brainchild of Governor Amaechi, who is also its grand patron.
Hon Wele, who was represented by the National Vice President, Barrister Wilson Iyalla, said that the foundation, which was made up of ex-students union leaders had not found any fault with Governor Amaechi since the inception of his administration.
He urged the Andoni chapter of the foundation to go out and sensitise the people on the developmental strides of the governor in all aspects of human development.
