Rivers ANCOPPS Wins Training Trophy
The Rivers State Chapter of All Nigeria Confederation of Principals of Secondary Schools (ANCOPPS), has won the best organised Mandatory Continuing Professional Training (MCPT), according to the national body of ANCOPPS.
The state Commissioner for Education, Dame Alice Lawrence-Nemi, while receiving the trophy in her office, thanked ANCOPPS for making the state proud.
Dame Alice Lawrence-Nemi promised to tell the success story to the governor, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Amaechi, stating that the achievements of ANCOPPS are as a result of the huge investment made by the state government in the education sector.
The commissioner promised to support ANCOPPS on its programmes and urged them to keep up the good work so as to continue to project the image of the state in good light.
Also speaking, the Permanent Secretary, Mr. Richard Ofuru, commended ANCOPPS, charging them not to relent in their efforts, but to sustain the tempo so as to win more medals for the state.
The President of ANCOPPS in the state, Dr. Mrs Augusta Fubara, while presenting the trophy to the commissioner declared that the award is a testimony of the transformation in the education sector of the state.
Dr. Fubara, who was the 2008 best teacher in the country stated that the giant strides of the governor, Chibuike Amaechi in education have motivated the principals to develop new attitude to their jobs.
