Delta Receives 16,103 Applications For C Of Os
The Delta Government said it received 16, 103 applications for Certificates of Occupancy (C of O) for land between 2007 and 2012.
The Commissioner for Lands, Survey and Urban Development, Sir Patrick Ferife, disclosed this on Tuesday at a news conference.
Ferife said that 4,196 applications were received for private land, while 11,907 applications were received for government land.
He said that 4,587 certificates were issued within the period under review with about N176 million paid as assessment fees.
Ferife also said that 2,504 consent applications were received by the ministry with more than N73 million realised as revenue from the applications.
He further said that 10,216 instruments were registered in the Deeds Registry, with total revenue of more than N 141 million also realised.
The commissioner also said that 35 oil pipeline applications were received by the ministry in the same period with about N6 million realised as revenue.
He further said that about 6,326. hectares were acquired by the ministry for development purposes across the state.
Ferife also stated that within the period under review, 24,972 plans were registered, while 14,104 of the plans were approved and about N390 million collected as revenue.
He said that the ministry was a service oriented one with primary objective of land acquisition, administration, management and control.
He said that it had, since 2007, through the Urban and Regional Planning Board prepared 27 layout plans.
