The Monarch appealed to their corporate tenants and clients such as Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC) and Chevron Nigeria Limited to recognize the status of the community and respond to their corporate social responsibilities by paying royalties to the community.
King Opusinya attributed the denials of full rights and privileges in payment of oil royalties to the absence of a unified chieftaincy institution in the past.
The Amayanabo further assured that with the support of all stakeholders, he would ensure that Kongo-ama is and longer treated as a satellite community, but fully integrated in the Chevron, Kula Regional Development Council (KRDC) and every other Global memorandum of Understanding (GMOU) negotiating board alongside other communities in the area.
