The newly installed Amanyanabo of Kongo-Ama Community in Akuku-Toru Local Government Area, HRH King Solomon Njedukobia Opusinya has pledged his commitment to the enthronment of peace and development during his reign in the community.
Speaking shortly after his installation at the Opusinya memorial hall in Kongo-ama Community recently, the Amanyanabo said dialogue rather than confronation would be the only key to resolving issues on order to foster unity and development in the area.
He solicited the concerted effort of all members of the community to enable him succeed in his royal duties.
The Monarch appealed to their corporate tenants and clients such as Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC) and Chevron Nigeria Limited to recognize the status of the community and respond to their corporate social responsibilities by paying royalties to the community.
King Opusinya attributed the denials of full rights and privileges in payment of oil royalties to the absence of a unified chieftaincy institution in the past.
The Amayanabo further assured that with the support of all stakeholders, he would ensure that Kongo-ama is and longer treated as a satellite community, but fully integrated in the Chevron, Kula Regional Development Council (KRDC) and every other Global memorandum of Understanding (GMOU) negotiating board alongside other communities in the area.
