The governor said there was an allegation that the kidnappers took the loots to the “chairman”
“In our effort to check kidnapping, we noticed that all sort of persons are getting involved in the business. We noticed that pastors, drivers, friends and other close relations aid the kidnappers.
“There is the fear of insider’s job within the security agencies too, as the head of anti-kidnap team in the Police has been arrested with his men and taken to Force Headquarters, Abuja for further investigation.’’
He said that no fewer than 800 kidnap and armed robbery suspects were currently in the custody of the Police and State Security Service.
“The solution to crime is intelligent gathering and it is for the public to work in synergy with the security agencies, while the state will support with the necessary infrastructure.’’
He said that the success achieved so far was due to the cooperation of the people of the state who volunteered information that led to the arrest of the suspects.
The governor commended MTN for assisting in tracking the hoodlums and appeal to other service providers to emulate MTN to make the task easier for security agencies.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Isyaku Barau confirmed the arrest of the CSP and gave his name as Dickson Adeyemi.
