DFGS Want For All Round Dev For Students
The Divine Foundation Group of Schools, DFGS, Elioparanwo, Port Harcourt, one of the blossoming private schools in the area has restated its commitment to ensuring that its students are exposed to sporting activities to enable them achieve all round development.
This is because the school believes that both physical and mental developments via sporting and academic experiences are complementary to achieving the full and efficient development of an individual.
These were stated by the Proprietress/Director of the school, Aunty Love Amadi during the second edition of the schools biennial Inter-House Sports Competition held last weekend in Port Harcourt.
According to her in her welcome address during the event, the proprietress said that as a versatile educational establishment geared towards the development of education to meet the set millennium goals on education and sports in Nigeria, the school creates time for comprehensive sporting activities.
Also, they encourage exposing budding talents and catching them young practice to develop the sporting talents of the students.
She further stated that the school and others within the area face several challenges which include erratic power supply, very bad roads and absence of other social amenities and called on the state and local government authorities to remedy the situation and enhance academic, extra curricula and commercial activities in the area.
At the end of the sporting competitions, Peace House also called White House emerged overall winner with a total of 744 points.
Pink (Joy) House placed second with 636 points, Blue (Harmony) House finished third with 585 points.
Green (Life) House and Red (Love) House ended fourth and fifth with 553 and 526 points, respectively.
Individual honours went to Master Vincent Titi and Ogechi Amadi as the best male and female athletes of the season.
Pink House also emerged overall winners of the match past event.
