Nigerians Urged To Back Super Eagles
Edward Ofere, has urged Nigerians to keep faith with the Super Eagles despite having to endure the disappointment of missing out on the Africa Cup of Nations.
Ofere, was not part of the team that failed to qualify for the Cup of Nations but was one of a handful of new invitees under new coach Stephen Keshi said that they were starting afresh to build a team that would be top class in a few years.
“I understand the feeling that we didn’t qualify for the Nations Cup but the coaches are building a new and strong team that will really give Nigerians what they deserve.
“The team is just coming together now and our goal is to play our way back to the top. We are going to build up what we’ve lost and I believe we can take the country far,” Edward said.
The Super Eagles under new coach Stephen Keshi started with two friendly games against Botswana and Zambia which Ofere was part of, but three weeks ago, the coaches decided to use only players based in Nigeria and after friendly games against club sides, they were forced to a 0-0 draw by Angola last week.
