Amanyanabo Commends Jumbo House Over Peaceful Conduct
The Amanyanabo of Grand Bonny Kingdom, HRM King Edward Asimini Dappa-Pepple has expressed happiness over the peaceful resolution of the chieftaincy tussle that engulfed the Jumbo War Canoe House for eleven years without any bloodshed in both the family and Bonny Kingdom.
King Pepple made the commendation Saturday at the Palace Hall, Bonny during the formal recognition and induction of Chief Horace Ferdinald Herbert Oko-Jumbo as the paramount ruler of Jumbo War Canoe House and member, Bonny Chiefs’ Council.
The Amayanabo, who conducted the induction, urged members of the family and the entire public to allow peace, unity and Justice to prevail in the family and the entire Bonny Kingdom.
The King noted that Jumbo House is among the largest War Canoe Houses in Bonny Kingdom, saying that the entire Kingdom would not have peace, if its component parts engaged in disputes and crises.
He urged the members of the family and Bonny people to embrace the existing peace and harmony to ensure influx of sustainable development projects in the Kingdom.
King Pepple seized the opportunity to call on the Chiefs and Elders of the Kingdom to work harder as custodians and leaders of various units of the Kingdom to ensure peace and harmony in their various areas of authority.
Addressing the family members, after the induction Chief Jumbo said, he would ensure that the family is reckoned with in the scheme of things in the Kingdom.
He called on the family members and the people of Bonny to always tow the path of peace to ensure sustainable development in the area. Also speaking, the former Commissioner for Women Affairs, Mrs Toru Ofili expressed happiness that the Jumbo Major House now has a representative in Bonny Chiefs’ council.
