RSG Installs CCTC In Key Public Areas
Rivers State Government says is has installed Close Circuit Television Camera (CCTC) in strategic places in Port Harcourt, the State capital to monitor activities of criminals.
The Secretary to the State Government, Mr George Feyii, who made this known in Port Harcourt, Monday, said the move was part of the efforts of the state government to check the activities of criminals in the state.
Though, details of the area covered by the CCTC equipment was not made known, the SSG told newsmen in an interview that the move was aimed at stemming the rising tide of insecurity in the country.
Feyii advised the public to promptly report movement of suspected persons to the police or other security agencies.
The SSG however declined comments on reports that the Islamic sect, Boko Haram has spread their activities to Rivers State but said the issue of security is not something that should be left to the government alone.
According to him, if every member of the public joins hand with the government by providing vital information on the activities of criminals, the trend would be reduced to its barest minimum.
