Islamic Bank Contradicts Nigeria’s Secularity-Apostle Ogu
The former president of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) in Rivers State, Apostle Engene Ogu says the idea of Islamic banking will fail in Nigeria.
Apostle Ogu who said this in an interview with The Tide in Port Harcourt maintained that Islamic banking, no matter the name and form it takes, contradicts the secularity of Nigeria.
The former PFN President insisted that Islamic banking was not only wrong, but portrays the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor, Mallam Lamido Sanusi of not keeping to his oath of office or defending the constitution of Nigeria.
“It is an ideology that is sentimental to the secularity of Nigeria, it shows that some people are not keeping to the oath they took to protect the constitution of Nigeria,” he said.
Meanwhile, Apostle Eugene Ogu has commended the various security agencies for their efforts in checking the rising influence and activities of the Boko Haran Sect.
Apostle Ogu who is the General Overseer of Abundant Life Evangel Mission (ALEM) described Boko Haram as a dangerous organisation whose ideology was capable of destroying the corporate existence of Nigeria.
He said that time has come for the security agencies to nip in the bud the activities of the Boko Haram sect to save the nation from the horror of daily killings of Innocent people.
The former PFN president however advised Christians to remain calm in the face of challenges to Nigeria’s secular state.
