Community Leader Harps On Partnership
The need for corporate bodies to partner with government in sports development has been emphasised.
A community leader in Rukpokwu town, in Obio/Akpor local government area of Rivers State, Sir Sam Ovu-Eleonu made the call at the weekend during the 3rd Annual Inter-House Sports Competition of Rukpokwu International College.
According to Ovu-Eleonu, who was the Special Guest of Honour at the event, Corporate organisations in Rivers State should partner with government in the development of sports, especially at the grassroots level. That, he said would go a long way to giving youngsters the needed opportunity to develop their talents and get the chance to express them.
At the end of competitions, Blue House emerged winner with a total points of 489, while Yellow House clinched second position.
Green and Red Houses took third and fourth positions with 457 and 437 points, respectively.
In the match past event, Red House came out tops with 37 points, Yellow House placed second with 32 points while Green and Blue Houses garnered 27 and 24 points to take third and fourth positions, respectively.
