Sharks FC Pips Bukola Babes 1-0
Sharks Football Club of Port Harcourt are currently on the fifth position on the MTN Nigeria Premier League table, after beating Bukola Babes of Ilorin 1-0 on Saturday, at their stadium in Port Harcourt.
Home boy, Gomo Ndukwu, scored the only goal of the match in the 51st minute.
In a post match interview, Festus Allen, Chief Coach of Bukola Babes rated the Nigeria Premier League high, saying that the league is of high standard now because of the quality of play and fair officiating.
According to Allen, his players outplayed Sharks, but failed to convert the opportunities they had.
“The match was won and lost. Sharks did not exhibit much quality, you watched the game, my boys (players) outplayed them hands down but Sharks carried the day because they were able to score.
The only team that has really impressed me with good football so far, is Kano Pillars,” he said.
The chief coach used the forum to call on football fans to come and watch matches as the league is of high standard now.
“I implore football fans to come the stadium, Nigeria Premier League has improved tremendously in terms of quality of play and officiating,” he added.
