Falconets Know Opponents, April 22 FIFA U-20 W/CUP
Nigeria’s U-20 Women’s team, the Falconets, will know their first round opponents when the draw for the Women’s World Cup is made on April 22. Germany will host the July 13 to Aug. 1 tournament.
The April 22 draw will hold at the Residenzchloss in Dresden, according to a report on the FIFA Media Channel.
Germany’s football legend, Franz Beckenbauer, who is the Chairman of the FIFA U-20 and U-17 Women’s World Cup Committee, will be among dignitaries at the draw.
FIFA Executive Director Competitions, Jim Brown and the chairman of the Local Organising Committee, Steffi Jones will also be present at the draw. Our correspondent reports that Nigeria and Ghana are Africa’s representatives, while Japan, Korea DPR and Korea Republic will fly the Asian flag. Europe has England, France, Sweden and Switzerland, while Costa Rica, Mexico and USA are from CONCACAF and South America has Brazil and Colombia. Oceania has New Zealand.
The championship will hold in Augsburg, Bielefeld, Bochum and Dresden.
