Presidency: Every Region Needs Each Other – Diri

Governor Douye Diri of Bayelsa State says no region can produce the President of the country without the support of other regions.
The Governor stated this when the Peoples Democratic (PDP) presidential aspirant, Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State, paid him a courtesy visit in Government House, Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital.
He urged members of the PDP to work collectively for the party to be successful in the 2023 elections.
A statement from his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Daniel Alabrah, noted that Governor Diri had told members of his party that as an opposition party, “what is of utmost importance is how to wrest power from the ruling party”, which, he said, had lost grip of governance in all aspects.
The Governor restated the call for the PDP to zone the presidency to the South, while stressing the need for political offices to be rotated among various regions of the country to ensure equity, fairness, amd justice “as exemplified by the PDP in its last national convention”.
Governor Diri further stated that God remains the ultimate decision maker on who becomes the PDP flagbearer, and that he would give support to whoever emerges as the party’s choice.
He urged the Bauchi State Governor to speak on issues of the party and how to improve the living standard of Nigerians as citizens are looking up to the PDP to salvage the country from the bad leadership of the All Progressive Congress (APC).
He commended the humble disposition of Governor Bala Mohammed and thanked him for starting his presidential declaration from Bayelsa State.
