Turaki Seeks Higher Political Office For Dickson
Sequel to the crossroads and myriad issues posing threat towards a united Nigeria, a Presidential Aspirant on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Kabiru Tanimu Turaki (SAN) has sued for higher office for Bayelsa State Governor, Hon Seriake Dickson, in view of his genuine patriotism and nationalistic disposition to unity, fairness, equity and justice.
Turaki said this in a statement signed by the Special Adviser on Media to the Governor, Mr Fidelix Soriowei, during a condolence visit to the Bayelsa State governor over the painful loss of his mother, Ma Goldcoast Dickson in Toru-Orrua, Sagbama LGA of the state.
Turaki noted, for sensitive political position at the national level, Dickson would perform well as an exemplary leader whose footprint has promoted reconciliation, peace and inclusive interaction with all ethnic divide in the country, as well as rapid growth and infrastructural development of Bayelsa State.
“Nigeria is in dire need of forthright and dependable leaders of courage like Governor Dickson, who would be bold enough to say the truth and show the requisite compassion for the people in their moments of need’’, Turaki submitted.
Said he, “Dickson has displayed exemplary leadership qualities in governing Bayelsa State, and deserved to occupy high political offices in the land’’.
He said, “You are one of the few patriotic and a highly nationalistic leaders we have. I call on leaders to emulate you, in words and actions.
“At this time that the country is so divided, we need leaders like you that have milk of human compassion; leaders who have the courage to say the truth, leaders who do not lie, leaders who sympathize with the people, and leaders who have the fear of God in their lives and you are one person with these qualities.
“If there is one person who has built bridges across the country, between the North and South, you are that person.”
