Mothers the world over have been described as not only the home builders and torch-bearers but builders of humanity and society through their numerous supportive roles, for the overall well-being of the generality of the people.
Senior Pastor of Hand of God Fire Ministries, Port Harcourt, Justin Ikechukwu Stephen, who dropped this hint while speaking with The Tide urged mothers to explore veritable means of tending to their children. He regretted that most mothers have abandoned their sacred responsibilities of tending and training their children because of their businesses or office duties as working class mothers.
Stephen called on mothers to always monitor their children on the type of company they keep and their addiction to immoral films which they watch on daily basis these days.
He further admonished mothers and other care-givers to brace up to their expected motherly advocacy and advisory roles in the family so as to better the lot of the society from what he described as “its current gross immoral, despicable condition orchestrated by vices and unbecoming attitudes.
Harping on the need for peaceful co-existence to be engineered by the women folk, he said “may I have the honour to admonish you on the necessity of having peace in our homes, churches and communities”, stating that “if there is no peace, there cannot be any progress and blessing”.
He also urged mothers to make Christ central in all they do, adding that mothers should invite Jesus now into their boats. As he puts it, “we have not achieved peace and development because we have seeds of suspicion, violence and hatred in and within us”.
