… As Commuters Hail Service

Some passengers
enroute Port Harcourt, Oyigbo, Imo River to Aba in Abia State have hailed the management of the Nigeria Railway Corporation (NRC) for their organised rail transport services in the Eastern District.
The passengers who bared their minds in an interview with our correspondent in Port Harcourt Monday said the services had been a great relief to them as they can now travel to Aba from Port Harcourt without stress.
According to them, the train service is cost effective, comfortable, affordable, less stressful, accident-free, cheaper and timely, adding that they would continue to patronize the rial transport.
One of the passengers, Mr John Emenike Anthony, who is a staff of Rivers State Internal Revenue said he resides at Oyigbo and come to work in Port Harcourt daily using the train services, because it saves cost, time, comfortable and accident free.
Anthony opined that the journey had been very smooth as there is no go slow, as when you time yourself of reaching your destination, you comfortably gets there.
He commended the management for their services but appealed for increased coaches in order to meet up with the passengers and also ensure promptness.
Another passenger, Stella Nwamadi who comes from Aba to trade in Port Harcourt said the rail transport is less stressful and economical, because if she travels by road, she would pay over N600.00 to get to Aba, but now she pays only N200.00 and thanked the management for their concern for the masses.
James Kalu, who deals on joggers, opined that he would continue to patronize rail transport to Aba because it is faster, cheaper, safer and no hold-up on the route.
Another trader, Caroline Okereke, who comes from Aba to Port Harcourt, said the services are commendable because it is economical,  comfortable and devoid of traffic jam and hailed the management for their services.
Another passenger enroute to mile one, Diobu, Ellias Obi said their services are okay, comfortable and cheaper than bus, and promised to patronize the rail services, enjoining the NRC management in Port Harcourt, Eastern District to keep it up.
The fare from Port Harcourt to Imo River is N100, while to Aba is N200 only.
