Abuja Show Focuses On FG’s 1m Houses Per Year

The Abuja Housing
Show, is aimed at helping in the actualisation of the Federal Government’s promise of providing one million houses annually for Nigerians, the organisers have said.
Chief Executive Officer and Coordinator, Abuja Housing Show, Mr Festus Adebayo, made the statement in Abuja, on Friday, when he unveiled the programme for the 9th Abuja Housing Show.
Adebayo said the housing show, billed to take place in Abuja from July 6 to July 8  would proffer solutions to the lingering housing crisis in Nigeria.
He said more than 100 exhibitors had registered for the show.
He said that the change of government had compelled the Abuja Housing Show to equally embrace change in the housing sector to enable the citizens to enjoy affordable housing.
Adebayo said that the housing show would bring owners of housing projects, including commissioners of housing across the country, to fast track the move toward achieving the goal.
“What is going to lead us to provide solution to affordable housing is what we are going to discuss at the Abuja Housing Show.
“Abuja Housing Show will come up with an agenda on how the APC can actualise its campaign promise of one million houses per year,” he said.
Adebayo said the show was in collaboration with the Real Estate Owners Association of Nigeria, Rock City, Dangote Cement Plc as well as Nigeria Montgomery Finance Company.
He said the issues of financing, land and high cost of building materials, which had been militating the development of the housing sector would be addressed by the show.
Adebayo also said that effective mortgage finance for civil servants to own houses and pay conveniently would be the priority at the Abuja Housing Show.
The “Abuja Housing Show” will be declared open by the Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo.
