Egbeda Police Arrests Ritual Murder

Police in Egbeda,
Emohua Local Government Area of Rivers State have arrested a middle age man, one Mr Dede, suspected to have killed a married woman and severed her private parts for ritual purposes.
An eye witness who spoke with The Tide in Egbeda at the weekend, disclosed that the suspect had made useful statement to the police and have also taken the police to where he had hidden the mutilated body of the housewife.
He explained that the suspect was said to have been given N2,000,000 (two million naira) to procure human parts for an undisclosed Alhaji.
The eyewitness, who spoke under the cloak of anonymity noted that the suspect had perfected the crime undetected but ran out of luck, when he bribed someone to hide the bicycle the housewife had taken to the farm.
According to him, “it was the N1000 that was given to a boy that raised the community’s suspicion about the incident.
He noted that Mr Dede did not accept that he was the culprit when a mob from the community beat him up and burnt his property but confessed while in the hands of the law enforcement agents of committing the crime.
The eye witnessed noted that following the confession, the suspect took the police to the farm and showed them a headless body of the woman whose name was given as Mrs. Ogbuigba. He also disclosed that the suspect had been bragging that he would buy a Lexus Jeep this Christmas period.
He explained that the suspect had pestered the slain woman for sex in spite of the fact that she was married, a request which he said the woman had refused.
The eyewitness noted that he could have raped her before the gruesome murder.
He said both the suspect and the slain woman came from the same side of Egbeda.
He said the matter had been transferred to the Swift Operation Squad (SOS) for further investigation.
