The Alumni Association of the Auchi Polytechnic in Edo State has proposed to build a 500-seater lecture threatre in the polytechnic.
Chief Chris Orode, chairman of the association’s fund raising committee, had said in a statement that the decision to build the lecture threatre with modern facilities was born out from the bi-annual meeting of the national executive council of the alumni held in Abuja recently.
Orode said the lecture threatre would have four compartments to address the need of the polytechnic and called on all former students of the institution to rise to the challenge and identify positively by supporting the project .
The alumni committee chairman posited that the project which is to cost about N250 million was viewed as part of support that can be given to the institution.
He expressed optimism that the building project would restore the past glory of the institution.
In his words “the world-class lecture threatre is to be designed by an alumni of the school, and would be in four compartments capable of hosting four events simultaneously”.
