Brown Ideye arrived in South Africa yesterday morning to join up with the Super Eagles just as the injured John Mikel Obi flew off to London to continue treatment on his injured knee.
Ideye was taken straight to Tembisa, where the team played a friendly match later against North Korea.
He met up with Media Officer Idah Peterside and NFF President Sani Lulu.
The rest of the squad were on their way to Durban, and the Sochaux forward did not play any part in the friendly game.
Mikel, the man he replaced left the Nigeria camp for London where he will be attended to by Chelsea’s medical staff.
