Coach Expresses Confidence Over Eaglets Chances

As the 2009 FIFA Under-17 World Cup kicks-off this weekend in Nigeria, Golden Eaglets coach John Obuh, says he is confident that the team is good enough to deliver the goods, having won all its friendly games preparatory to the championships.
Obuh, who made this known in a television programme said that there was no doubt that Nigeira has a team that can deliver, saying that, they (Eaglets) played three friendly games scored 21 goals and conceding only three in Qatar.
He continued that “However we are not using those results to judge our readiness, we know that we are going to play much stronger teams in the world cup.”
According to him, his focus is on the opening match against Germany on Saturday saying that, it is going to be tough but football is about being prepared to play the tough games. “When the going gets tough, the tough gets going,” he said.
Meanwhile, the rest of the qualifiers from across the globe have started arriving in the country.
The Nigerian contingent arrived Abuja from Lagos yesterday and lodged at the Trans Corp Hilton Hotel for the period of the event.
It would be recalled that Nigeria hosted the FIFA Under-20 tournament in 1999 but did not go beyond the second round.
