Sea School Isaka Alumni Hold Three-Day Convention
Sea School, Isaka, Rivers State, Alumni Foundation is holding its 2nd International Convention from October 24-28, 2023.
The event, taking place at the facility of Charkins Maritime Academy, Port Harcourt, had the Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalaye Fubara, as the Special Guest of Honour on the opening day.
The Chairman, Planning Committee, Hon. Emmanuel Nwabrije, disclosed this in a chat with journalists in Port Harcourt.
He said Sea School, Isaka, a leading legacy school in Rivers State, was established in 1971 by the quintessential first Military Governor of Rivers State, Navy Commander Alfred P. Diete-Spiff, now His Royal Majesty, King Alfred Diete-Spiff, Amanyanabo of Twon Brass.
He said, “gentlemen of the fourth realm of the estate, it will interest you to know that Sea School, Isaka, was established in 1971, and its products are well grounded both in academics, sports, as well as qualified seamen.
“The graduates of this great citadel of learning are excelling in their various professions, including Corporate management, journalism, legal, engineering, medical, architecture, sports, banking, insurance, captains of major international shipping lines and other industries.
“The calm and dynamic Governor of Rivers State, His Excellency, Sir. Siminalayi Fubara, is expected to grace the occasion as Special Guest of Honour; King Alfred Diete-Spiff, Amanyanabo of Twon Brass; and His Eminence, Barr. Nwachuku Nnam Obuoha-Obi lll, Oba (Eze Ogba) of Ogbaland, as Royal Fathers of the day, Prof. Chinedu Mmom, Commissioner for Education, Rivers State, as Guest of Honour and Hon. Linda Stewart, member representing Okrika Local Government Area, at the Rivers State House of Assembly as Special Guest.
“The chairman of the day is an erudite scholar, Prof. Kelvin Bobmanuel, the first Marine Engineering Professor in sub-Saharan Africa.

Rivers Judiciary Denies Issuing Court Order Stopping SOLAD from Swearing in RSCSC Members
The Rivers State Judiciary has denied a media report claiming that Justice Frank Onyiri of the State High Court issued an injunction order restraining the Sole Administrator, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas (rtd), from inaugurating the newly appointed members of the Rivers State Civil Service Commission (RSCSC).
In a statement issued by the Deputy Chief Registrar in charge of litigation at the High Court, Menenen Poromon (Esq), the state Judiciary disassociated itself from the report, describing it as malicious and fabricated.
The statement emphasized that the report was a falsehood and a misrepresentation of what transpeared in the court.
Poromon clarified that no such order was issued by Justice Onyiri or any other judge of the High Court of the state and urged the public to disregard the information, as it lacked any iota of truth.
The statement however advised the public to verify any information concerning the state Judiciary directly from the office of the Chief Registrar, High Court of the State, to avoid spreading of misinformation.
