High Court Stops Moves To Unseat Monarch
Efforts to dethrone the Paramount Ruler/Nye Nwe Ali Omagwa, Eze Achinike Amadi, Okpo 21st, has again hit the brick wall after a High Court sitting in Isiokpo dismissed the application seeking to set aside its judgment earlier in favour of the Monarch.
Counsel to the monarch, Nweke Prince Nweke who spoke with newsmen outside courtroom shortly after the Judgment, said the matter was dismissed for lacking in merit.
He said generally, matters are a function of the law as anyone on the side of the law must have judgment.
The legal icon pointed out that people should always embrace the rule of law rather than the ‘rule of force’.
He recalled that they were in court to determine among other things, whether it was wrong or not for an individual or group of persons to dethrone a Government recognised traditional ruler.
In his response, the Eze Omagwa, said the Court has once again proven that it remains the final hope of the common man.
Eze Amadi also expressed regrets that some people could still organise themselves together with the intention to muscle Owhor Holders about against their will.
”People should respect the Owhor Holders. They are not ordinary people. All forms of respect should be accorded them.
According to him, such ought not to be in that titled holders are meant to be respected and not to be ordered or forced to undertake some ventures that are out side their jurisdictions.
He has also thanked his people for standing by him since the pendency of the matter, and extended olive branch to his main opponent, Henry Ikpo to forget the past and join hands with him in order to move the community to its required international status.
“Omagwa is one. We can’t be divided. That is why I said we must come together and think on how to move our community forward”, he said.
