RSU Pro-Chancellor Expresses Satisfaction With Pathology Building Project
Pro-Chancellor, and Chairman of Council of the Rivers State University, Port Harcourt, Justice Iche N. Ndu (rtd), has expressed satisfaction with the level of Work done on the ongoing Pathology Building at the Rivers State University Teaching Hospital, a project initiated in 2021 by the Rivers State Government.
The Pro-Chancellor who spoke recently when he led members of Council and management of the university on an inspection tour to the Pathology Building, said it will be ready for commissioning as part of projects lined up for the 100 days in office by the Governor of the State and Visitor of the University.
The Chairman used the forum to commend the Rivers State Government for the project, noting that when completed, the Pathology Building will provide services to the Teaching Hospital and training for undergraduate and post graduate students of the College of Medical Sciences.
The Vice Chancellor of the institution, Prof. Nlerum Okogbule, who also spoke at the inspection tour stated that the Pathology Building is already at 97 per cent completion stage, expressing optimism that it will be fully ready for commissioning in the next two weeks.
On his part, the Provost, College of Medical Sciences, Prof. Chituru Orluwene said the Pathology Building will accommodate all residency training programmes in Pathology at the Post Graduate level. He said the programmes include Chemical Pathology, Anatomical Pathology, Medical Microbiology, Hematology and Blood Transfusion.
Orluwene noted that the Pathology Building is significant to the university and the teaching hospital, stressing that all patients who visit the teaching hospital will have to undergo various medical investigations in the building.
The Acting Chief Medical Director, RSUTH, Prof. Chizindu Alikor, Deputy Vice-Chancellors of RSU and other Principal Officers of the University were also on the entourage of the Pro-Chancellor.

Rivers Judiciary Denies Issuing Court Order Stopping SOLAD from Swearing in RSCSC Members
The Rivers State Judiciary has denied a media report claiming that Justice Frank Onyiri of the State High Court issued an injunction order restraining the Sole Administrator, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas (rtd), from inaugurating the newly appointed members of the Rivers State Civil Service Commission (RSCSC).
In a statement issued by the Deputy Chief Registrar in charge of litigation at the High Court, Menenen Poromon (Esq), the state Judiciary disassociated itself from the report, describing it as malicious and fabricated.
The statement emphasized that the report was a falsehood and a misrepresentation of what transpeared in the court.
Poromon clarified that no such order was issued by Justice Onyiri or any other judge of the High Court of the state and urged the public to disregard the information, as it lacked any iota of truth.
The statement however advised the public to verify any information concerning the state Judiciary directly from the office of the Chief Registrar, High Court of the State, to avoid spreading of misinformation.
