Woji Monarch, ,Others Grace St Nicholas Church’s Harvest
The Paramount Ruler of Woji Community in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State, Eze Emeka Ihunwo was among dignitaries who attended the 2022 adult harvest and thanksgiving service of St. Nicholas Church, Woji.
Others who also attended the service included the General Manager of Rivers State Newspaper Corporation, Chief Ernest Chinwo: Chairman, Obio/Akpor Local Government Council, Barrister George Ariolu and RT.Hon.Kingsley Chinda, member representing Obio/Akpor Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, both of who were represented.
Speaking with newsmen, Paramount Ruler of Woji Community, Eze Emeka Ihunwo thanked God for the privilege to see this year’s harvest ,stressing that in line with the church’s tradition harvest always comes up every second week of November.
He said judging by the outcome of this year’s adult harvest, the attendance was impressive ,but regretted that some persons are dodging their responsibilities to God.
The Woji monarch said St.Nicholas has existed for over 100years ,stressing that it was his prayers that he lived to witness many more years of harvest and thanksgiving of the church.
He also harped on the need for people to give thanks to God for their lives, adding that no matter where you enter, the life you live, belongs to God and He can take it any time He wants it.
Speaking on the theme of the harvest “Giving Heartily to the Lord,” Sir Barrister Othuke Opike urged Christians to give sparingly to God’s work.
He said Christians must not see giving as a privilege but a right, as wealth comes from the Lord.
Opike said God is the owner of all things, adding that it is expedient that we give him what He deserves.
According to him ,we are the custodians of God’s blessings.
“God is the owner of all wealth and you are the custodian of God’s blessings, “he said.
He said giving to God’s work should be the responsibility of all as the wealth that the Lord entrusted to humanity should be used for the advancement of his service.
The guest preacher also thanked those who identified with the need of the church.
Also speaking, the Chairman of the 2022 Adult Harvest Committee of the church, Engr.Cyprian Orji described the harvest as one of the best.
He said the turn out was impressive this year and attributed it to better organisation.
Orji said the situation will be replicated next year.

Rivers Judiciary Denies Issuing Court Order Stopping SOLAD from Swearing in RSCSC Members
The Rivers State Judiciary has denied a media report claiming that Justice Frank Onyiri of the State High Court issued an injunction order restraining the Sole Administrator, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas (rtd), from inaugurating the newly appointed members of the Rivers State Civil Service Commission (RSCSC).
In a statement issued by the Deputy Chief Registrar in charge of litigation at the High Court, Menenen Poromon (Esq), the state Judiciary disassociated itself from the report, describing it as malicious and fabricated.
The statement emphasized that the report was a falsehood and a misrepresentation of what transpeared in the court.
Poromon clarified that no such order was issued by Justice Onyiri or any other judge of the High Court of the state and urged the public to disregard the information, as it lacked any iota of truth.
The statement however advised the public to verify any information concerning the state Judiciary directly from the office of the Chief Registrar, High Court of the State, to avoid spreading of misinformation.
