RSG Holds Rescheduled Measles Vaccination From Nov 3
The Rivers State Government in collaboration with its partners will conduct the earlier postponed Integrated Measles Vaccination Campaign in the State from November 13 to 16, 2022.
This is contained in a document signed by the Permanent Secretary, Rivers State Primary Health Care Management Board (RSPHCMB), Dr. Agiriye Harry.
Recall that the vaccination exercise was earlier scheduled to hold from October 20 to November 2, 2022 but was postponed.
During the exercise, the integrated measles campaign will commence in two streams across the 23 Local Government Areas (LGAs) of the State.
“The Rivers State Government and partners will administer conjugate vaccine to children from nine months to 59 months in all government health facilities, schools, special centres, places of worships, as well as field vaccinating homes.
Other routine childhood immunisation will be given to children from 0 – 23 months, and COVID-19 vaccinations for adults and all eligible persons will also be vaccinated by our health care providers during the exercise”, the document stated.
He urged parents to bring out their children , wards to the designated health facilities, or places to be vaccinated against measles and other vaccine preventable diseases in Rivers State.
