NYSC Boss Tasks Corps Members On Service
The Director General, National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brigadier General Muhammad Kaku Fadah, has charged Corpers to ensure that they are always abreast and well informed about topical national issues in order to equip themselves for the service year.
Fadah gave the charge in his nationwide address to mark the official opening/swearing-in ceremony of the 2022 Batch B Stream 2 Corps members, Tuesday.
Represented by the State Coordinator, George Mfongang, at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Nonwa-Gbam, Tai, Fadah said a knowledge of topical issues in the nation would not only present the corps members as well educated, but also guide them in their views, conduct and duties in their service year.
He noted that the lessons, trainings, drillings, among others, given to corps members on camp are aimed at developing their potentials, and urged them to take advantage of their stay on camp.
“I implore you to be abreast and well informed about topical national issues so as to equip yourselves for the task of the service year.
“Let me also remind you to take seriously the lessons in the Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) training programme, leadership coaching, paramilitary drills and other physical training so as to develop and realize your potentials as well as attain your individual feats”, Fadah stated.
The NYSC boss enjoined the corps members to see the Oath of Allegiance sworn to during the swearing-in ceremony as an action that would guide them for a lifetime and have positive influence on everything they do.
Fadah further charged the corps members to use the NYSC platform which they have been mobilized into to “promote national unity and integration in all they do and at all times”.
The Oath of Allegiance was administered by the Chief Judge of the State, Hon. Justice Chibuzor Amadi, represented by Justice Sobore Biambo.
A total of 1, 273 Corpers were deployed to Rivers State in the 2022 Batch B Stream 2.

Rivers Judiciary Denies Issuing Court Order Stopping SOLAD from Swearing in RSCSC Members
The Rivers State Judiciary has denied a media report claiming that Justice Frank Onyiri of the State High Court issued an injunction order restraining the Sole Administrator, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas (rtd), from inaugurating the newly appointed members of the Rivers State Civil Service Commission (RSCSC).
In a statement issued by the Deputy Chief Registrar in charge of litigation at the High Court, Menenen Poromon (Esq), the state Judiciary disassociated itself from the report, describing it as malicious and fabricated.
The statement emphasized that the report was a falsehood and a misrepresentation of what transpeared in the court.
Poromon clarified that no such order was issued by Justice Onyiri or any other judge of the High Court of the state and urged the public to disregard the information, as it lacked any iota of truth.
The statement however advised the public to verify any information concerning the state Judiciary directly from the office of the Chief Registrar, High Court of the State, to avoid spreading of misinformation.
