College Pledges Commitment To Training Medical Personnel
The management of the Rivers State College of Health Science and Management Technology, Port Harcourt, has pledged its commitment towards the training of skilled manpower in medical practice.
Provost of the College, Prof Franklin Nlerum, gave the assurance during the graduation and formal induction ceremony of 42 graduands from the department of Medical Laboratory Science Technology at the institution recently.
Prof Nlerum, who congratulated the graduands, described Medical Laboratory Science Technology as very crucial in medical practice, especially in diagnosis and treatment, and urged the graduands to be good ambassadors of the institution and remain focused on the ethics and practice of their chosen profession.
In his remark, the Registrar of Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN), DrTosanErhabor, who conducted the induction, adviced the new graduands to adhere to the ethical code of conduct of the profession.
The Registrar, who was represented by Lady Christy Igwe, stated that the work permit for the graduands was subject to yearly renewal and cautioned against use of expired licence.
Also speaking, the Dean of the School of Medical Laboratory Science Technology, DrIbiene Sarah, congratulated the graduands and urged them to be dedicated in the discharge of their professional services.
Highlights of the event was the conferment of awards on distinguished personalities, including the Rivers State Deputy Governor, DrMrsIpalibo Harry Banigo, and the Provost of the College Professor Franklin Nlerum.
