Lloyd Constitutes Anniversary Planning Committee

Chairman of Emohua Local Government Council, Dr. Chidi Lloyd, has approved the constitution of the Local Government’s one year anniversary celebration planning committee.
He said the anniversary celebration followed the level of peace, progress and development witnessed across Emohua Local Government Area under his one year old administration in the area.
Members of the committee are Chief Vincent Chukwu, and Victor Benjamin, who would serve as Chairman and Secretary respectively.
Other members are: Peter Wogbo, Bright Jossy-Elendu, Solomon Ikpo, Achinike Wodu, Success Uche Okporo, Temple Oneke, Innocent Ollor, Queenet Chuku, and Ekwueme Dike.
Also included are: Dr. Alfred Eseda, Chidinma Nwonda, Kelvin Okoro, Jim Morrison, and Steve Onuah.
Inaugurating the committee in his office, Dr Lloyd said the anniversary celebration is expected to be a weeklong harvest of projects conceptualized and completed by the Council within the first one year of his administration.
He said he event will be concluded with a special thanksgiving service in appreciation to God for His grace upon the government and people of Emohua LGA.
The LG Boss disclosed that some of the projects earmarked for inauguration during the anniversary celebration billed to hold between 11th and 16th July 2022 include the construction of 1 kilometer Eveku road in Eveku Community (ward 14) in Odegu, and the Local Government Vigilante Services Secretariat building situated at Mgbuitanwo junction, along the East-West Road (ward 4), Emohua.
Other projects earmarked for inauguration in commemoration of his administration’s first one year in office, according to the Council Chairman, include the Local Government healthcare center (cottage hospital), Emohua Council Chapel and marriage Registry, the council staff canteen and the 20,000 gallon braithwaite water reticulation project, all situated within the Council’s Secretariat.
Speaking on behalf of the one year anniversary celebration planning committee, Chairman of the Committee and secretary of the Local Government Council, Chief Chukwu, assured that members will put in their best in line with the directive of the Council Chairman, with a view to ensuring a successful anniversary celebration.
Meanwhile, the schedule of events for the anniversary celebration, which, according to the LG boss, promises to attract notable political leaders and top government functionaries in Rivers State as guests, is expected to be released by the planning committee in a few days.
Vice Chairman of the LGA, Hon Mrs Edna Nyeche, and the Leader of the Local Government Legislative Council, Hon Mrs Love Yenke, were among dignitaries that witnessed the inauguration of the committee.

Motor Spare Parts, Industrial Generators Dealers’ Union Swears Gets New Chairman in Port Harcourt
The Owhonda Dickson Motor Spare Parts and Industrial Generators Dealers’ Union operating in Ikoku Port Harcourt, Rivers state has sworn in Mr. Cyril Igbokwe, popularly known as Onyeoma Cy, as its new Chairman.
The brief swearing _in ceremony was held at the union office in Port Harcourt, last Wednesday
In his acceptance speech, Mr. Igbokwe expressed gratitude for the trust and confidence his members had shown in him, despite his perceived educational background compared to others. , “I feel very happy to be the chairman of this great union in this great market. I’m proud of my executives for demonstrating commitment and cooperation.” Notably, the executives raised over ?1 million for the inauguration ceremony within an hour.
The new Chairman promised to tackle key challenges facing the union, including security and indiscipline. He vowed to follow in the footsteps of his predecessor, who he praised for excellent performance, and aimed to possibly do better.
Mr. Igbokwe emphasized maintaining a robust relationship with the host community and conducting his affairs within the ambit of the law.
In his remarks,the Electoral Committee Chairman’, Igwe Amobichukwu Eze Okorie, assured that the elections were conducted in a free, fair, and credible manner. Despite facing challenges such as non-compliance with guidelines and unfounded propaganda campaigns, no formal protest letters had been received.
Also speaking, the Women’s Leader, Lolo Nkechinyere Okolie, expressed faith in the new Chairman, citing his integrity and experience. She highlighted her role in ensuring women’s voices are counted in the union and vouched for the credibility of the election, noting that Mr. Igbokwe was the popular choice among members.
