Banigo Charges Christian Doctors On Competence
Rivers State Deputy Governor, Dr (Mrs) Ipalibo Harry Banigo has urged Christian Doctors to show competence in medical practice at all times.
Dr. Banigo gave this advice while speaking during the April General Fellowship of Christian Medical and Dental Association of Nigeria, Rivers State Chapter, at the Rivers State University Teaching Hospital yesterday.
She said medical practitioners have to be very careful because they deal with lives every day. “You have a spectacular ministry that Jesus Himself is the head. Being a Christian Doctor is an awesome privilege from God and you cannot afford to let Him down, because He did not let you down,” Dr Banigo stressed.
The deputy governor informed the New House Officers that they have a new burden to carry, adding that they have to be different and show forth God’s Glory who called them out of darkness into His Glorious Light and make a difference.
“You are here to do the Master’s bidding, the Holy Spirit has to lead you; you need the Holy Spirit with you in this practice more than any other thing. God is ready to stand with you and empower you, but you need to partner with Him,” the deputy governor quipped.
According to Dr Banigo, the State Government, under the watch of Governor Wike, would continue to provide a conducive environment to improve the health sector, noting that Governor Wike is passionate about reducing the heath burden of the Rivers people.
Dr Banigo, while describing members of the Christian Medical and Dental Association of Nigeria as Ambassadors of the Lord Jesus Christ, said as they grow in faith and the profession they must realise that it is a service first to God and then to humanity.
In his Sermon, Pastor Wisdom Osiri, the Lead Pastor of the Wisdom Place Church, who spoke on the theme: “The Pursuit of Purpose”, drawn from Jeremiah Chapter 1: 4 to 7, said everything in life has a purpose, adding that you can discover purpose by the things you like, the things that make you uncomfortable, as well as the things that people ask you to do for them.

Rivers Judiciary Denies Issuing Court Order Stopping SOLAD from Swearing in RSCSC Members
The Rivers State Judiciary has denied a media report claiming that Justice Frank Onyiri of the State High Court issued an injunction order restraining the Sole Administrator, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas (rtd), from inaugurating the newly appointed members of the Rivers State Civil Service Commission (RSCSC).
In a statement issued by the Deputy Chief Registrar in charge of litigation at the High Court, Menenen Poromon (Esq), the state Judiciary disassociated itself from the report, describing it as malicious and fabricated.
The statement emphasized that the report was a falsehood and a misrepresentation of what transpeared in the court.
Poromon clarified that no such order was issued by Justice Onyiri or any other judge of the High Court of the state and urged the public to disregard the information, as it lacked any iota of truth.
The statement however advised the public to verify any information concerning the state Judiciary directly from the office of the Chief Registrar, High Court of the State, to avoid spreading of misinformation.
