Revenue Guidelines In Oyigbo Must Be Followed – Committee Chairman
The Revenue Commitee Chairman of Oyigbo Local Government Area, Senibo Daniel Chijindu, has said that the guidelines of Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) given by the chairman, Hon. Okechukwu Akara, remains sacrosanct.
He says if the guidelines are followed accordingly, tax payers and revenue agents would not have any problem. Hence, he urged all to put more commitment to achieve the desired objective, expressing confidence that the guidelines given by the chairman, Hon. Akara, cannot be taken for granted, hence, Senibo Daniel disclosed this in a meeting held with revenue agents and stakeholders in the area, at Afam, the council headquarters at the weekend.
According to him, the aim of the meeting was to marshal out plans on how to have robust and improved revenue. He expressed readiness to work as a team with everybody to change the narratives of the great LGA.
“Besides, IGR drive of Oyigbo LGA remains supreme and sacrosanct”, Senibo Daniel said, emphasising that working as a team would enable them checkmate and block leakages as well put an end to touting.
“I can assure you that this council, under the leadership of Hon. Akara is determined to change the narratives hence I want everybody to help him achieve his aims and objectives”, he reiterated.
He called on the people to be law abiding and work with fear of God to move Oyigbo forward.
On their part, the stakeholders urged the chairman and his team to sustain the tempo of the development of the LGA.

Rivers Judiciary Denies Issuing Court Order Stopping SOLAD from Swearing in RSCSC Members
The Rivers State Judiciary has denied a media report claiming that Justice Frank Onyiri of the State High Court issued an injunction order restraining the Sole Administrator, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas (rtd), from inaugurating the newly appointed members of the Rivers State Civil Service Commission (RSCSC).
In a statement issued by the Deputy Chief Registrar in charge of litigation at the High Court, Menenen Poromon (Esq), the state Judiciary disassociated itself from the report, describing it as malicious and fabricated.
The statement emphasized that the report was a falsehood and a misrepresentation of what transpeared in the court.
Poromon clarified that no such order was issued by Justice Onyiri or any other judge of the High Court of the state and urged the public to disregard the information, as it lacked any iota of truth.
The statement however advised the public to verify any information concerning the state Judiciary directly from the office of the Chief Registrar, High Court of the State, to avoid spreading of misinformation.
