Vintage Farms Holds Annual Fish Harvaesting
Vintage Farms and Products Company Ltd, in Elele, Ikwerre Local Government Area, Rivers State, has held its annual fish harvesting event.
The event was graced by people from all walks of life with fanfare to commemorate the New Year celebrations.
Speaking at the event the House of Assembly member representing Ikwerre Local Government Area, Hon. Anselem Ugwuokwo, lauded the Managing Director/ Chief Executive of Vintage Farms, Sir. Mike Elechi, as he created jobs for youths in the area, and consequently, reduced youth restiveness.
He described Sir. Elechi as an astute human resources manager, saying that this has placed him above equals.
“I want to say that the effort of Sir. Mike Elechi in addressing youth restiveness through employment deserves commendation”, Hon. Ugwuokwo said.
The lawmaker further called on multi-nationals, corporate organisations and well-meaning individuals to support the farm. He advised youths in the State to emulate Sir Elechi to better their lives and build better society.
In their separate reactions during the event, some participants also commended the President of Port Harcourt Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (PHACCIMA), Sir Mike Elechi, saying that he deserved to be honoured by employing over 500 youths in the area.
“We are happy and commend Sir Elechi for employing over 500 youths in the State.
We also call on the state and federal government to give the visionary leader support and encouragement”, said.

Rivers Judiciary Denies Issuing Court Order Stopping SOLAD from Swearing in RSCSC Members
The Rivers State Judiciary has denied a media report claiming that Justice Frank Onyiri of the State High Court issued an injunction order restraining the Sole Administrator, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas (rtd), from inaugurating the newly appointed members of the Rivers State Civil Service Commission (RSCSC).
In a statement issued by the Deputy Chief Registrar in charge of litigation at the High Court, Menenen Poromon (Esq), the state Judiciary disassociated itself from the report, describing it as malicious and fabricated.
The statement emphasized that the report was a falsehood and a misrepresentation of what transpeared in the court.
Poromon clarified that no such order was issued by Justice Onyiri or any other judge of the High Court of the state and urged the public to disregard the information, as it lacked any iota of truth.
The statement however advised the public to verify any information concerning the state Judiciary directly from the office of the Chief Registrar, High Court of the State, to avoid spreading of misinformation.
