LG Deputy Chairman Seeks Prayers, Pledges Diligence, Humility
Newly Sworn in Vice Chairman of Etche Local Government Area, Hon. Gladys Nweke, has appealed to the people of Etche to always pray for her to serve diligently and with humility.
Hon Nweke, who made the appeal last Saturday at the Seventh Days Adventist Church, Umuumara Okehi 2 in Etche, said she needed the prayer of her people to overcome the daunting task ahead.
She also gave thanks to God Almighty for the privilege to serve the people of Etche in this capacity, adding that she will everly remain grateful to God.
Hon. Nweke acknowledged Hon Chief Allwell Onyesoh, for finding her worthy to lead and serve the people of Etche while also thanking the Chairman of ELGA, Hon Obinna Anyanwu for accepting her to work with him.
Representing the former Commissioner of Education, Chief Allwell Onyesoh, The Deputy Youth Leader of ELGA, Mr Alfred Nwafor urged the newly sworn-in vice Chairman to always remember her days of little beginning so as not to fail the Etche people.
He further described Hon. Nweke as one who was humble, dedicated, God-fearing and a mother, who never disappointed in any task given to her.
Also speaking, the Chairperson, Nigeria Association of Women Journalists ( NAWOJ) Rivers State Chapter, Comrade Susan Serekara-Nwikhana, noted that Hon. Gladys Nweke as a Journalist had never failed in her professional duty assigned to her.
Comrade Susan also appealed to the members of the Church and Etche people to always pray for her so that her reign may make positive impacts in their lives.
She further thanked the Rivers State Governor Chief Nyesom Wike for finding women worthy in leadership positions across the 23 local government areas of the state.

Rivers Judiciary Denies Issuing Court Order Stopping SOLAD from Swearing in RSCSC Members
The Rivers State Judiciary has denied a media report claiming that Justice Frank Onyiri of the State High Court issued an injunction order restraining the Sole Administrator, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas (rtd), from inaugurating the newly appointed members of the Rivers State Civil Service Commission (RSCSC).
In a statement issued by the Deputy Chief Registrar in charge of litigation at the High Court, Menenen Poromon (Esq), the state Judiciary disassociated itself from the report, describing it as malicious and fabricated.
The statement emphasized that the report was a falsehood and a misrepresentation of what transpeared in the court.
Poromon clarified that no such order was issued by Justice Onyiri or any other judge of the High Court of the state and urged the public to disregard the information, as it lacked any iota of truth.
The statement however advised the public to verify any information concerning the state Judiciary directly from the office of the Chief Registrar, High Court of the State, to avoid spreading of misinformation.
