Group Donates Life Vests To Boat Operators
Worried by the safety of marine travellers in Rivers State, a religious group, Believers Love World, an arm of the Christ embassy Church, has donated over 100, life vests to boat operators in two riverine communities in the state.
Making the donation at the Bille Kingdom Secretariat, Abonnema Wharf Water Front, Port Harcourt, weekend, Pastor Emeka Okonicha of the Christ Embassy Church, said the initiative was in line with the “give back to society” policy of the church.
Okonicha noted: “the donation is part efforts to give back to the society”.
According to him, “our regional Pastor, Linda Okocha said this is in line with the vision of our man of God’s campaign, ‘Reach out Nigeria’, to reach out to our communities, we are here to actually give back that which Pastor Chris has invested in us, to commemorate the 2018 “Reach Out Nigeria Community Project’.
Receiving the items on behalf of the benefiting communities, Abonnema Whart and Nembe Jetties, the Community Development Committee Chairman, Abonnema Wharf, Mr Karibi Benson said the donation would help make marine travels safe for their passengers and reduce the rate of deaths along the water ways in the states.
