ITF To Train 250 Youths On Skills
The Management of Industrial Training Fund (ITF), Rivers State says a total of 250 youths would be trained in various skills ranging from catering and event management, photography and others across the state.
The training, ITF said would be carried out in Port Harcourt and Ahoada centres.
Zonal public relations officer, Mr Desmond Keno-Osokpor stated this to The Tide during training yesterday in Port Harcourt.
He said the objectives is to train unemployed youths in middle manpower in both private/public sectors.
While informing that the training would last for three months, he listed some of the challenges fixed by the organisation as slow involvement of government in the scheme.
Osokpor, who also decried insufficient incentives given to trainers after the completion of the programmes used the trainees not to be discouraged.
In an interview with The Tide, Miss Gloria Jack, a participant, expressed delight to the management of ITF for organising the workshop.
According to her, the training would release unemployment encouraged skills amongst youths.
She thus appealed to the participants to make judicious use of the opportunity given to them by taking the scheme seriously.
