GM Tasks Church Leaders On Moral Decadence
The General Manager of Rivers State Newspaper Corporation ( RSNC), Mr Vincent Ake has called on church leaders in the state to rise up against the increasing cases of moral decadence in the society.
Ake who said this in his office during a courtesy visit to him by the Board of the Ecumenical Centre, Port Harcourt said that the church must take up a programme to enlighten the youths on the path of moral rectitude.
He condemned the craze for materialism, stressing that it behooves the leadership of the Ecumenical Centre to design programmes that will attract the youths to the centre to hear the word of God.
The General Manager, who described the Rivers State Ecumenical Centre as the epicenter of Christianity in the state, said that, the corporation will explore the opportunity to ensure that Christ is fully publicised.
He also commended the board for the visit and assured them of the corporation’s readiness to give the desired publicity to the centre.
Earlier, the Chairman, Board of the Ecumenical Centre, Rev Dan Obinna said that the centre, which was commissioned by Governor Nyesom Wike this year, represents a fulfillment of nationhood for Rivers State and the people, adding that, it was in line with scriptural prophecies.
Obinna said that the centre has a Cathedral and other facilities, pointing out that services and other activities are going on at the centre.
He noted that the visit was to solicit the support of the corporation towards publicising activities from the centre.
Obinna, a former general manager of the corporation, commended the management for keeping The Tide newspaper afloat inspite of all odds and urged for its sustainance.
