Insurance Expert Assumes CIIN Leadership

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Risk Analyst Insurance Brokers Ltd, Mrs Funmi Babington-Ashaye, has been elected to assume the leadership of the Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria (CIIN).
The Corporate Affairs Manager of CIIN, Mr Seun Banwo, told newsmen in Lagos yesterday that Babington-Ashaye would officially assume the seat on July 25, sequel to her election in June.
Babington-Ashaye is taking over from Lady Isioma Chukwuma after a two-year tenure from 2014 to2017
“ CIIN was established in 1959 to provide a world class manpower with the highest standard of professional and ethical training for operating effectively and efficiently in the Nigerian and International business environment.
The institute also in a statement on its new leadership, signed by the Corporate Affairs Head, said the in-coming CIIN president had contributed to the development of insurance education and expansion.
“Babington-Ashaye had contributed to the development and expansion of the frontiers of knowledge in the Insurance Education and profession.
“She had published a lot of insurance and risk management articles in leading newspapers in the country,” CIIN said.
The institute also said that she served on many committees, including Audit and General Purposes Committee, Activities Committee, Strategy Advisory Committee, Education Committee and Chairman Organising Committee of the Inaugural Insurance Industry Mega Conference
“Presently she is the Chairman, College of Insurance and Financial Studies, presently sits on the Board of Pearl Awards Limited.
“Babington-Ashaye was the former President of Entrepreneurs Organisation, Lagos Chapter (an international organisation of entrepreneurs with headquarters in Virginia USA)’,’ CIIN said.
