PDP Supreme Court Victory Excites LG Boss

The Caretaker Committee Chairman of Akuku-Toru Local Government Area of Rivers State, Hon. Ere Manuel, has expressed joy over the Supreme Court victory of Alhaji Ahmed Makarfi as the authentic Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
The Akuku-Toru council boss, while briefing newsmen at the council secretariat, Abonnema, commended the judiciary for its boldness in maintaining the rule of law, stressing that the judgement had restored the confidence of the people in the judiciary, which he described as the last hope of the common man.
Manuel thanked the State Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike for his doggedness, resilience and support for the Markafi-led leadership of the PDP, describing the governor as a worthy leader and true democrat.
He prayed God to give the governor the strength and wisdom to continue to pilot the affairs of Rivers State creditably and pledged the loyalty and support of the people of Akuku-Toru Local Government Area to the government.
Meanwhile, the immediate past Minister of Sports and the grand leader of the PDP in Akuku-Toru Local Government Area, Dr Tammy Wenike Danagogo, has credited the existing peace in Abonnema community to the intervention of God in the affairs of the community.
Danagogo stated this in his opening remark as chairman at the maiden edition of AKULGA National day of thanksgiving and re-dedication service recently at Abonnema.
The former Sports Minister attributed the existing peace in Abonnema to a dedication of the local government area into the mighty hands of God in 2004 and expressed the hope that the re-dedication and thanksgiving service held recently would usher in more progress that would bring back the lost glory of Abonnema.
In his sermon at the service, the guest speaker, Pastor David Ibiyeomie of the Salvation Ministries explained the importance of dedication to God, stressing that since Abraham Lincoln dedicated America to God, blessings have never ceased in that country.

Rivers Judiciary Denies Issuing Court Order Stopping SOLAD from Swearing in RSCSC Members
The Rivers State Judiciary has denied a media report claiming that Justice Frank Onyiri of the State High Court issued an injunction order restraining the Sole Administrator, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas (rtd), from inaugurating the newly appointed members of the Rivers State Civil Service Commission (RSCSC).
In a statement issued by the Deputy Chief Registrar in charge of litigation at the High Court, Menenen Poromon (Esq), the state Judiciary disassociated itself from the report, describing it as malicious and fabricated.
The statement emphasized that the report was a falsehood and a misrepresentation of what transpeared in the court.
Poromon clarified that no such order was issued by Justice Onyiri or any other judge of the High Court of the state and urged the public to disregard the information, as it lacked any iota of truth.
The statement however advised the public to verify any information concerning the state Judiciary directly from the office of the Chief Registrar, High Court of the State, to avoid spreading of misinformation.
