Speaking with our correspondent soon after the ceremony, some of the stakeholders said the project is a welcome development as it would alleviate the difficulties faced by the people using the Jetty to travel to their various riverine communities, boost economic activities, bring development and generate revenue to the government, describing it as first of its kind for decades in the area.
