Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State has commiserated with the state council of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) over the death of their Chairman, Comrade David Ofoeyeno.
In a condolence message to the family, Okowa described the deceased as a respected labour leader whose support and contributions to labour movement would be missed by all.

Okowa also described Ofoeyeno as a friend, saying on “behalf of my family, the government and people of Delta, I mourn the demise of a friend and brother, Comrade David Ofoeyeno.
“Ofoeyeno, until his death, was the Chairman of Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) Delta State Council and President, Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), Delta State Council,” he said.
He urged the Ofoeyeno family to see the demise as an act of God and be comforted by the fact that the deceased lived a worthy and fulfilled life.
The governor also urged the children of the labour leader to emulate his exemplary life.
The governor prayed God to grant the organised labour and the Ofoeyeno family the fortitude to bear the loss and to grant the deceased eternal rest.
