Bakana Monarch Tasks CDC On Peace, Dev

The Amadabo of Bakana
Kingdom in Degema Local Government Area of Rivers State, HRH Omiebimabo Orubo Odum VIII, has called on the newly inaugurated Community Development Committee, (CDC) in the area to work towards the sustenance of peace and development in the area.
The Amadabo who gave the charge at Dixonia Hotel in Akpajo, Eleme recently during the inauguration of the new C.D.C. stressed the need for the economic growth, peace and development of Bakana.
The monarch who described Bakana as an important and strategic community urged the new C.D.C. members not to rest on their oars but to remain vigilant in ensuring that equity and justice reigned in the distribution of available resources in the area, adding that the tenure of the C.D.C. would last for two years.
The Bakana Monarch who is as well as the Chairman of Degema Council of Traditional Rulers, also assured that traditional rulers in the LGA would not renege on their role as custodians of peace and called on the people of Bakana community to continue to be law-abiding and support the new C.D.C to enable it succeed.
The Amadabo also approved six committees in the area with specific mandates. The committees are. Oil and Gas, Security, Land Allocation, Health and Sanitation, Educaton and Transportation.
In his speech, the Chairman of the newly constituted C.D.C., Chief J.B. Iboroma V, thanked the Amadabo and the entire people of Bakana for giving him the mandate to serve as the C.D.C chairman.
He assured that the new C.D.C. would discharge its duties effectively and solicited the support and co-operation of the people.
Also speaking, the Secretary of the C.D.C. Mr Akobo Gogo-Abite, commended the Bakana monarch for his visionary leadership and assured that the new C.D.C would deliver on its mandate.
