She state government has
been urged to kick start an employment exercise that will take thousands of unemployed Rivers people off the labour market.
A stateholder in the state, Mr Nnamdi Amadi, in a chat with The Tide on Monday, in Port Harcourt, said he was in doubt about the Federal Government’s plans to conduct a sincere recruitment exercise into the Federal service.
He explained that the only way to relax the tension the Federal Government has caused is to commence a sincere recruitment exercise that will provide jobs for people.
Amadi hinted that most Rivers people may loose out in the process due to what he described as political witch-hinting.
According to him, the state has enough areas to accommodate over 50 per cent of unemployed in the state.
He said some ministries have the capacity to employ thousands of people in the areas where there are vacancies.
He maintained that the civil service commission for past four years has not Vindicated employment interview, whereas staffs, have left through retirement or death.
The stakeholder stressed the need for a massive employment exercise, saying it will not only place food on the table of the people, but will re-direct the mind of the youths from criminality.
He also tasked the governor to use the ongoing verification exercise to fish out those who are due for retirement so as to create opportunity for the young ones.
